Bumble Bee Blinds is one of the fastest-growing window covering companies in the country, specializing in custom blinds, shutters, indoor and outdoor shades, and drapery. The Boulder, Longmont, and Broomfield areas are booming with opportunity, and we’re looking for a part-time, independent contractor Sales Rep & Design Consultant to help us meet the demand.

As a Sales Rep & Design Consultant, you’ll help residential and commercial clients transform their spaces with our custom window coverings. You’ll receive qualified leads from our marketing team and have the opportunity to generate your own leads — earning an increased commission percentage on any self-generated sales. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, creative, and sales-driven professional who wants flexibility and high earning potential without the constraints of a full-time schedule.

As a Sales Rep and Design Consultant, you'll have the opportunity to build relationships with potential clients, actively reach out to new leads, and promote our window covering solutions. What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct in-home or on-site design consultations with clients to recommend window covering solutions.
  • Present product options, provide quotes, and close sales.
  • Service company-provided qualified leads.
  • Proactively generate your own leads through networking, referrals, and community outreach — with a higher commission rate for self-generated sales. With support from Bumble Bee Blinds, we are looking to focus your outreach on potential commercial clients as well as residential clients.
  • Accurately measure, record, and specify products for estimates and orders.
  • Maintain customer records and project details in our CRM system.
  • Build relationships with homeowners, interior designers, realtors, and builders.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven sales or design experience (window treatments or interior design preferred).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and tech-savvy (iPad & CRM experience a plus).
  • Motivated to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings or weekends based on client needs.

Compensation:

  • Competitive commission structure on completed sales with increased percentage for self-generated leads.
  • Flexible part-time schedule (approximately 15–30 hours/week, with opportunity to increase hours as needed).
  • Independent contractor role — you manage your own schedule subject to minimum availability to suit the client scheduling system.
  • Access to company product samples, training, and marketing support.

Commission Plan & Earnings Potential

  • Company-Provided Leads: Competitive commission rate on all completed sales resulting from qualified leads provided by Bumble Bee Blinds’ marketing team.
  • Self-Generated Leads: Earn an additional +5% commission on any sales from leads you personally generate through networking, referrals, or your own outreach.
  • Average Commission Range: Client average order value is $5,000-$7,000 with some sales in the $20,000-$30,000 range.
  • High-Earning Potential: With company leads alone, part-time consultants can earn $35,000–$50,000 annually. Adding self-generated sales can push earnings well beyond that range.

Paid Training: Product and systems training will be paid at a flat rate upon completion of first sale.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $3,000.00 - $10,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
